The forever young dog the groodle, the Peter pan dog while in his youth, but reliable and settled once mature. I absolutely adore these dogs, they are superb animals with the most wonderful happy go lucky attitude. I remember my first introduction to these dogs I was hiking along this track with my wife at the colo River. I remember us struggling to get up this steep hill, then all of a sudden a gentlemen with his two Groodles ran straight past us like it was nothing - incredible. They were fine looking dogs with their doggie back packs full of all sorts of goodies I'm sure. When my wife and I finally reached the top of the hill the gentlemen and his two groodles where having a well earned drink. I asked him about his best buddies and trekking friends, they then proceeded down the hill. As soon as I got home I googled the breed, then two years later I purchased two, then three, and could have been four but my wife gave me that look, so I stuck to the three. I find this dog to be such a pleasure to be around and when they mature they are such an easy dog - calm, obedient and just gorgeous in all aspects. They make superb trekking buddies and are fantastic for the fitness fanatic or enthusiast walkers, but when the long hikes and exercise are finished they remarkably switch the button off. It's uncanny that they seem to understand when play time is finished and rest time begins. What a superb choice for a companion. Love these dogs
Attitude and exercise requirements
Groodles do need exercise but it doesn't mean you have to run a marathon with them. A short walk and an off the leash romp is good enough, especially if you have an average to large sized garden. They do need some form of activity but not excessive amounts of exercise. Remember to never over exercise the Groodle when young - wait until at least 12 months old until you really give them that 20 mile hike. Short walks and average amounts of exercise is recommended until his bone structure develops.
Who suits the Groodle?
The Groodle is a fantastic companion and is suited to most situations. They love children and family life, but they love nothing better than to be spoilt and they make the best buddies for the single folk too. Groodles settle into a gentle loving dog when mature. They can also be a great house dog, training really well and are easy to toilet train. You cannot go wrong with this wonderful dog, they are incredible.
